Designed in 1934 by the designer Gerrit Thomas Rietveld, the Zig Zag chair quickly became a design icon and is one of the first examples of a wooden overhang chair, consisting of four levels with a rhythmic sequence, resulting in an apparent instability with extreme elegance connect.
The stylistic uniqueness of the piece of furniture finds its maximum expression in the colored version with an open-pore varnish that underlines the grain of the wood. This chair was one of the first examples reissued by Cassina in 1973 on the occasion of the launch of the I Maestri collection.
