This is the table top version of the Serpente lamp, designed in 1965 by Elio Martinelli. The methacrylate moulding techniques used were particularly innovative for the period in which it was designed. Innovative is also one way of describing its geometric shape and dynamic nature, capable of capturing the atmosphere of the years in which Italian design established itself in the world.
